Eat This!

This thought-provoking video is ideal for stimulating discussion and debate about the way we rear animals for food in Britain today. The movie follows four teenagers with very differing views, as they ask hard-hitting questions about meat. Where does it come from? What is eating it doing to us, the animals and the environment? Covers KS4 National Curriculum targets in Citizenship and English and is also suitable for use in PSHE, Religious Education and Sixth Form General Studies.

Suitable for KS3 and KS4 food technology
Duration: 10 and 15 minutes

Animal Aid's cookery-training officer, Liz Hughes, demonstrates to school students how to cook two delicious and nutritious vegetarian dishes. The first film features Liz cooking a vegetarian chilli (10 minutes duration) and the second a vegetarian sausage and bean casserole (15 minutes duration).

This thought provoking film is ideal for stimulating discussion and debate about the way we rear animals for food in Britain today.

  • the origins of factory farming
  • selective breeding of farmed animals
